Flowers are not only a beautiful expression of emotion and intent, they are also a key addition to any wedding or special event.  At Lush Designs, they are the centerpiece to a client's unique taste, lending boundless opportunity to an event's blooms.  Lush Designs creates stunning floral solutions and always has something breathtaking to share.

 

"We opened in 2022," says Samantha Snyder, owner and operator.  "I had previously worked for a florist, on and off, for many years and we used to do little pop-ups at places like the farmers market and Kane County Flea Market.  I would go, find eclectic pieces, to floral arrangements and then we'd do a pop-up event.  It got to a point where people would inquire more about the faux floral arrangements than the real flowers and it dawned on me, this was my passion."

 

During COVID, Samantha was asked by a friend to do the flowers for their wedding, and it was at that ceremony she found herself with an opportunity for six more clients.  "That's when I knew Lush Designs was my future." she says.

 

Uniquely, Lush Designs business focuses primarily on faux flowers after being asked by a client a few years ago to help as she was allergic to real flowers.  "I do silk florals and it's really taking off," she says.  "I am realizing I am offering services to people no one else has before.  I realize this may be the way of the future and the most cost-effective way to do your wedding."

Lush Designs can rent out florals and she invites her clients to come in for a consultation where they can create a design wedding or event arrangements together.  "You'll know exactly what it's going to look like," she says.  "You can also bring your bouquet back to me after the event and I will turn it into a wreath or something practical for your home, completely free of charge.  So, you get to enjoy your flowers more than one time."

Logistically, faux florals can make a lot of sense in a variety of ways, especially for destination wedding or, like her first faux floral client, people who are allergic to real flowers.  "I had someone come in last week who is doing a wedding in Ireland and they're not very familiar with the venue, and pop-up florists just aren't as readily available in other countries," says Samantha.  "So I can make the bouquet, pack it up in their suitcase and they can pull it out and it'll look as nice as it did when it went in.  They have all their boutonnieres, everything."

Over the past year, Lush Designs has provided gorgeous silk florals for weddings, bridal showers and baby showers, and has put together a spectacular portfolio.  "You have so much more flexibility and opportunity for unique designs with faux florals," she says.  "I had a wedding that was in the middle of winter but they wanted full-on tropical flowers.  I can get any flower, anytime in silk, but for real flowers, that wasn't going to be possible."
